H.264, also known as AVC (Advanced Video Coding), is the most widely supported video format and is recommended for sharing on social media and other websites.
HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding), also known as H.265, is available on newer macOS and iOS devices. HEVC offers about double the data compression ratio at the same or improved level of quality at the same bit rate. HEVC is not currently supported on all browsers and devices.
Apple ProRes is a lossy video compression format developed by Apple. Export as Apple ProRes 422 or Apple Pro Res 4444 if you want to import your cinemagraph into another application for further editing, such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro.
A GIF is an image format that is only recommended when video playback is unavailable.
Live Photos are photos that come to life when you touch them in Messages and in other supported iOS apps.
Note: If your plan includes hosting, you can easily embed HD & 4K cinemagraphs on websites using the Flixel embed code. It will autoplay and loop your cinemagraphs on websites and blogs and detect the browser and device to send the appropriate file type.
